Terms and Conditions

Use of any of our services assumes that you have read and agree with the terms and conditions listed below.

Booking

  • How to book – by website, by email [email protected]
  • You will be sent an email to confirm your booking. This will include details of the booking including date, time and location.

Payments

Payment is required before services and no places can be reserved without payment

  • One-to-One training sessions
    • Full payment is to be made at point of booking before the initial one-to-one consultation session (initial visit). This will secure my visit. Full payment will then be required before any subsequent one-to-one consultation sessions no less than 48 hours before.If payment has not been received within 48hrs of the initial one-to-one consultation or subsequent one-to-one training sessions I reserve the right to terminate my services.Bulk Bookings:
      • If booking and paying for a block of 3 or 121 sessions then a reduction of 10% will applyTravel costs of 0.45p per mile will be incurred if I must travel over 5 miles to get to you from Windsor centre, SL41.  If a home visit then parking fees may apply if there is no suitable parking available.
    • Group Classes including workshops
      • Full payment is to be made prior to booking.
      • If full payment has not been received within 48hrs of the course start date then I reserve the right to cancel the class for you and your dog.
  • Types of Payment. Bank transfer, online payment (via payment link).
  • Payment for training sessions, either one-to-one or group class, is charged per dog.

Cancellations

  • One to one training sessions & Group Classes
  • As an outdoor class provider the courses are intended to continue in rain and even snow as long as it is safe to do so. Exercises will be modified to suit the weather conditions and you and your dogs needs. Please come dressed appropriately for British weather!
  • I reserve the right to cancel a class if weather warnings or health and safety reasons mean that the location, date or time are no longer viable for your dog or yourself. This may include government restrictions, if driving conditions are dangerous, if temperatures are too high or even risk of wind due to the neighbouring trees.
  • I will always update you as weather warnings become available and where possible move classes or 121 to a mutually convenient and safe time
  • If for any reason you need to cancel a 121 slot please contact us as soon as possible so that we can offer your slot to another client and potentially offer you an alternative slot if possible (this remains at the discretion of the instructor). Cancellations made with less than 72 hours notice will still incur the full fee and no alternative slot will be offered.

Refunds

  • Refunds are as follows and apply to classes, workshops and 121s:
    • 6 months prior to event – 75% of fees paid will be refunded
    • Between 3 – 6 months prior to event – 50% of fees paid will be refunded
    • No refunds with less than 3 months prior to the event.

Termination

  • Windsor Paws Dog training may, by written notice (including email) terminate any agreement at its discretion:

1) If the client fails to pay for an agreed session or it has become overdue.

2) If the client breaches any of the terms of the agreement

3) If the client tries to discredit the businesses reputation by social media or otherwise.

Delay of Session

  • I reserve the right to cancel training sessions (group or 1;1) at my discretion. It is infrequent but if Windsor Paws Dog Training needs to reschedule a session then this will follow the Cancellations section above.

Code of Ethics

  • Windsor Paws adheres to modern and ethical training practices. This means training that is force free and reward based. Any aversive training practices will not be carried out. This includes any punishments or corrections and the use of shock collars, prong collars, choke chains or slip leads. Research shows that reward based training is a much more effective method for a dogs learning and contributes positively to their overall wellbeing.

Liability

  • Windsor Paws dog training is covered by professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

Disclaimer

  • Windsor Paws dog training will make every effort to ensure both safety of clients and their dogs. However, making a booking you are accepting that participating in activities with dogs, children and adults may pose a risk of injury to yourself and your dog. You agree to assume full responsibility for any risks injuries or damages which may occur because of your dog attending such sessions. You also need to make anyone who accompanies you aware they are also there at their own risk. You accept that your dog and its behaviour always remain entirely your responsibility whether or not in the presence of the trainer.

Location Safety Guidance

Please carefully read the safety notes below before attending a class or 121 at our training grounds. These are for your own safety and those around you:

  • You will be training in a field; this may mean uneven ground or slippery ground in places. Please wear suitable footwear.
  • Your attendance and participation at this workshop are at your own risk.
  • When you bring your dog to a training class, you do so at your own risk.
  • Dogs are not always predictable in their behaviour and although the risk is minimal, that is the nature of a dog training environment.
  • Please give the other dogs space. Do not allow your dog to encroach onto other dog’s space.
  • Your dog is to be handled competently and safely and be always under your control.
  • Each owner is to take responsibility for their dog, bearing in mind that they will understand their dog’s intentions and idiosyncrasies.
  • Dogs to be always kept on a lead unless otherwise instructed.
  • Workshop/classes are suitable for dogs of all ages and abilities, the only restriction we have on this workshop/class is no banned dog breeds and no dogs with aggressive behaviours towards dogs or people.
  • Other equipment that we recommend should be fitted correctly and used as per the manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Any faeces deposited to be cleaned up immediately and taken away for disposal.
  • Bitches in season cannot attend training.
  • If your dog has had symptoms of illness (vomiting/diarrhoea/nausea) then they must be clear of these symptoms for 48hours before attending class, 121s or field hire.
  • Owners/handlers are welcome to attend without their dog if either of the above apply.
  • All instruction and training methods to be followed by the owner/handler.
  • Clients can be asked to leave at any stage if they are unable or unwilling to follow our instruction and advice and we believe that this results in causing a danger to other persons or animals
  • Only harnesses, collars and flat leads to be used during the sessions.
  • If you believe your dog to be in any pain prior to the session please make me aware.
  • If you have a vet appointment or day care session the week of our booking please make me aware.

GDPR Policy

GDPR / Confidentiality and Marketing

  • The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force on 25 May 2018. As I hold personal data about my clients (i.e. names, addresses, emails and phone numbers) this means I am a data controller and a data processor under the regulations. I am required to comply with the principles of the GDPR and ensure that your data is held securely, is not processed in a manner that is incompatible with the reason for which it was collected, is kept up to date, etc.
  • I can therefore confirm that:
    • All my clients’ personal data are securely held on my digital devices with passwords and fingerprint access that is under my sole control.
    •  I will never pass client details to a third party without their express permission to do so.
    • I do not send out mailshots or unsolicited emails.
    •  You are in control of your information, and you can ask ‘WindsorPaws’ to stop using it whenever you like.
    • I destroy client records once they are no longer required (eg. the client has moved away and will no longer require my services, or I have not had any contact with a client for a period of 24 months or more): this will include shredding any paper records I hold and safely deleting contact details from my phone and booking form apps
